Individual Income Tax Intern

Summary: The Individual Income Tax Intern is given a variety of diversified tax assignments under the supervision of different professionals. As experience is gained during the tax season, more difficult assignments and greater responsibilities are given.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Communicate with clients to request information necessary to complete the engagement efficiently.
- Understand the rules, regulations and Code of Professional conduct adhered to by firm personnel.
- Prepare individual tax returns using the firm’s software programs.
- Input individual income tax returns and reconcile client records to the tax return after input.
- Perform other tax and accounting duties as needed and as assigned by supervisory personnel.
- Use tax research software (RIA) in preparing tax returns. Develop a working knowledge of research methods and resources within the firm online RIA library.
- Develop sound working relationships with administrative personnel, peers, and supervisors.
- Use technical, time management, and organizational skills to complete tasks within budgeted time.
- Work overtime as needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Good oral and written communication.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including word and excel.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Seeking a Bachelor’s degree in accounting with minimum of one college tax course completed.
